This spring, thousands of fans will arrive in Bloomington to attend the 69th Men's and 32nd Women's Little 500 bicycle races. Not only does this iconic Hoosier race offer an incredible leadership opportunity for students racing in and volunteering for the race, but it also generates critical financial support for deserving IU students.
Some of those deserving students include the riders who practice year-round, attend skills clinics and participate in qualifications all to race in the Little 500. Leading up to race day, riders also take on the challenge of raising funds for scholarships. This sixth annual program—the Cycling for Scholarship campaign—is for the riders, by the riders.
Please make a gift today to support scholarships for riders, as well as the pageantry and competition enjoyed by alumni, family and friends alike.
To amp up the competition, awards will be given to the men’s and women’s team with the most donors prior to and after race day:
There are no bikes to mount or green flags to wave, but the competition starts now! Please make a gift today to add to the philanthropic legacy of the Little 500.
“This scholarship is helping me pay for tuition, boarding, and books for the year, which allows me to focus on my education, and of course, biking. Biking has had a tremendous impact on me and continuously proves to me that your goals can be achieved if you are committed and put forth your best effort. I try to keep this in mind in pursuit of my education and in my personal life. I am so happy to have shared all of the experiences that I have with my teammates, both the good and the not-so-good, and I look forward to making more new friendships and connections through the Little 500 community in the time I have left here.”

“This award will assist me in paying for my university education and will allow me to focus on furthering my professional and academic career. The Little 500 is an incredible tradition unique to Indiana University and continues to have a significant positive impact on my college experience. I am constantly grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing community and to have been recognized for my efforts through this scholarship. Balancing academics, extracurriculars, and other commitments all while training for Little 500 is challenging, but receiving an IUSF scholarship further reaffirms that the hours spent preparing for and participating in the race are worthwhile. Thank you, donors, for your contributions to IUSF and the Little 500 – your generous support and recognition means a great deal to Indiana University students.”
