Hello, everyone! We are The FAER Afghan Evacuation & Resettlement Group, a grassroots effort to evacuate 800 of our Afghan allies from Afghanistan. These are individuals and their families who, for many years, valiantly supported America's efforts to build a democratic Afghanistan.

What is the money used for? All funds donated will go towards two funds. The first is to pay for safehouses (apartments near the evacuation point where our families are currently hiding). The second is for food drops. Rampant inflation and famine have made access to food much more difficult. When the Taliban took over, our allies lost everything - their jobs, homes and most possessions. They have no means of supporting themselves at this time. 

How is the money disbursed to the Afghans?

Safehouse funds are transmitted directly to our families via Moneygram money order. Once we send out an order, a member of the safehouse collects it from a nearby bank. No intermediaries are used. Food funds are sent to an NGO (Rafiq -- Friends of Afghans) that arranges for the food drops. Safehouse rent is currently about $125 a family per month, and food drops are currently around $150 a family every two weeks. We also provide baby formula support for one family, at around $100 a month.

How can I donate?

There are two methods of donating: 

1) Donate here on Fundly. Donations submitted via Fundly go to Christopher Pumford, minus the 3% processing fee from Fundly Note: this form of donation is NOT tax-exempt.

2) Donate to FAER via our fiscal sponsor, Imagine For All. This method of donation IS tax-exempt and all funds donated go to FAER. You will need to mail a check to Imagine for All. Please email Christopher Pumford at [email protected] for further instructions. 

Who handles donated funds? 

Christopher Pumford, an American citizen and and FAER member, is in charge of fundraising, bookkeeping of every donation and distribution of funds to Afghanistan. Is there any other way I can assist with the evacuation effort?
