From Tony's Mom 4/30/14 Unbelievable news: getting ready to transfer to the step-down unit. The trach is capped, so he's breathing independently! Trauma team has cleared him to have surgery on the right hand, ortho to evaluate today. He is mouthing words: "I want to go home"!!!!!! SO DO WE!!! If, after reading this month-long saga, there is one person left that doesn't believe in the power of prayer, I don't know what more proof can be produced! LOVE, Mom
April 26, 2014 ~ Steven is down with Tony and reports that Tony had an "excellent" day today. He seems 100% more comfortable and has plans for a relaxing day tomorrow...

Tony came out of surgery in great shape, he had the Vent taken out and a trach put in place, vitals are spot on and he is alert and reacting to his brother and doctor/nurses...a HUGE step in the right direction!
Today April 23, 2014 from Tony's brother Steven:
Today is Wednesday April 23rd. I came down to Boca Raton Florida on Sunday and I will be here for a couple weeks. While I am here in Florida, I will be visiting Tony everyday from 10 a.m. To 6 p.m. Del Rey hospital. The first day that I saw Tony, my emotions ,mental and physical capabilities were compromised and it was very hard to deal with... I was sad, angry and on the positive side I was happy joyful and tearful that my brother is still alive . Tony actually looks really good for the stuff that he has been going through for the last three and a half weeks . All of his vital signs look really good.... He has not had dialysis in 3 days and his kidneys are looking better. One of his lungs is not doing well at all and the other one is in about 50%.... When I talk to Tony in a low peaceful calming tone of voice I know that he can hear me.. I tell him that everybody is praying for him and everything will be alright. I tell him that he needs to get some rest and everybody loves him, and you are going to make it Tony... Tony has a very long way to go and I appreciate all the thoughts, love and prayers that everybody around the world has given my brother.. .
