Hi, I am Indie Johnson, a Black Trans Femme founder based in Georgia. I've dedicated my life to creating transformative spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community. I am raising $20K to found my Non-profit: Art of Liberation Co.

I have spent years cultivating spaces that center women, femmes, black, trans, and queer people of color. I have championed art collectives in the greater Atlanta area like The Harvest Cabaret responsible for showcasing new and upcoming talent in the performance scene. I've created a number of film projects centering queer and trans autonomy and exploration. I understand that great quality food is a tool to bring community members together for a common goal and not only nourish the body but nourishes the soul.
Now it is time to officialize my journey. I am raising $20,000 to cover start up and operating expenses. I must have the proper paperwork to apply for future grants and partnerships that will help The Art of Liberation Collective (ALC) to establish and expand its reach in the first year. There are not enough spaces that champion bodily autonomy, body positivity, food sovereignty, gender expansion, and community building.
The ALC's mission is to empower marginalized communities, particularly Black and queer voices, through transformative performance, culinary arts, and community events. We challenge societal norms, celebrate diverse cultural expressions, and foster joy, resilience, and liberation by creating inclusive spaces for artistic storytelling, cultural heritage, and social justice advocacy.
In the next five years, The Art of Liberation Collective envisions becoming a thriving hub for artistic expression and social justice, where marginalized communities reclaim their power. Through transformative events, culinary innovation, and community organizing, we will uplift Black and queer voices, fostering enduring cultural and social liberation.
Founding a nonprofit is no small feat, and building a sustainable foundation for The ALC requires resources. Your generous donation will help us:
**Secure a Physical Space:** A safe and welcoming home for our performances, workshops, and events, where the community can gather, create, and thrive.
**Launch Our Programs:** From our burlesque shows for social change to our culinary initiatives that lead to economic independence, your support will fund the launch of our first few events and the filing of our black and white, providing opportunities for artists, chefs, and activists to shine.
**Sponsor The Liberation Fund which provides financial support, resources, and mentorship to grassroots organizations and individuals dedicated to advancing social justice, particularly in marginalized Black and queer communities. By investing in local leaders, artists, and activists, we aim to empower community-driven solutions that foster liberation and systemic change.
Please, if you can find it in your heart to donate, no matter the size, each dollar will bring us closer to our goal of a world where black queer liberation leads to liberation for us all!
Thank you for the support!
