We have been given an amazing opportunity to help over 1.3 million Americans who are living with blood cancer through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS.) We are excited to be nominated and running for the Students of the Year campaign that is being launched by LLS.
The Bad Blood Boys are competing against other teams from the Kansas City area to raise the most funds for LLS from February 13th through April 2nd. All of the funds that we raise will go directly to LLS to support their goal of curing blood cancers and improving the quality of life for patients and their families. We are doing everything we can to reach our fundraising goal of $75,000. We need your help!
LLS has contributed $1.2 billion into blood cancer research and has saved millions of lives. In 2017, 15 of 18 FDA approved treatments were funded by LLS. Since 2000, more than 40% of the new cancer therapies approved by the FDA are for blood cancers. Research funded by LLS leads to treatment advances in otherformsofcanceranddiseasesaswell, suchasbreastcancer, liver cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s.
We are motivated to support this cause by the inspiring success story of our close family friend Emily Dumler, who is alive today because of a clinical trial funded by LLS. We hope that your participation in our March Madness Bracket Challenge can help lead to more stories like this in the future.
