Blerd Chronicles Fundraiser: Empowering Black Girls to Create Their Stories

Imagine being a dreamer, a creative soul, but not seeing anyone like you in your favorite media. Imagine wanting to tell your own story—one that reflects your identity, your dreams, and your unique experiences. That’s the reality for so many young Black girls who also happen to be nerds, or “Blerds.” At Blerd Chronicles, we’re determined to change that narrative.

Our Mission We believe that representation matters, and we’re committed to creating a world where Black girls who love anime, comics, and digital art can see themselves in the stories they consume—and most importantly, create. Through our program, we equip these girls with the tools, resources, and mentorship they need to bring their imaginations to life through storytelling and digital art.

Why We Need Your Support To make Blerd Chronicles accessible to all, especially underserved girls who don’t have the financial means, we need your help. Poverty should never be a barrier to creativity or self-expression. With your support, we can provide this program free of charge and eliminate the financial hurdles that stand between these girls and their dreams.

Here’s what your contribution will help fund:

• Drawing Tablets: Many of our participants don’t have access to the technology needed to fully explore their artistic potential. By providing high-quality drawing tablets, we can ensure every girl has the tools she needs to succeed.
• Digital Art Software: Industry-standard programs like Adobe Creative Cloud are essential for these girls to learn and practice digital art. Your support will fund licenses and software subscriptions.
• Industry Professionals for Workshops: We aim to bring in Black women industry professionals—writers, artists, and creators—who can mentor and inspire our girls through hands-on workshops and coaching sessions.
