We are raising money to dedicate an artificial reef to the memory of my mother Bonnie Culp who passed on June 7th 2017. The reef will be 8-23 miles from Ocean City, MD in the Atlantic Ocean.

I will be putting $750 towards the $2000 total for the larger Great Eastern Reef site. Due to the fees here it would be foolish to add it to the total here as they take a percentage. The real goal is $1250.00 if I can adjust it I will so it is more obvious.

Bonnie enjoyed fishing in the Atlantic Ocean when she lived in Maryland, she even constantly reminded me she had once caught a citation blue fish from the beach in Assateague, a feat I have yet to accomplish. Shortly before her passing we discussed the possibility of dedicating a reef to her and she thought it was a great idea. As she put it, "So when you're fishing there and nobody else is catching but you, you can say your mom is helping you out."
The reefs are handled by the Ocean City Reef Foundation and are pre-existing structure the OCRF has already placed. The funds help them to place more structure. There are 6 major reef sites where locations are available everywhere from 3 miles out to 23 miles out. The goal is to raise enough to get a reef at the Great Eastern reef site 23 miles from the Ocean City Inlet where I (James, her son) tend to fish often.
The goal is to raise $1,250.00 in addition to the $750.00 being provided by myself (James) so we can get a larger more active reef site dedicated. If we should not reach the full goal the additional will still be donated to OCRF for a reef dedication it will just be a smaller site.
Thank you everyone in advance for any donations, I appreciate it as I'm sure my mother does from where she is now.
