HELP FOR ORPHANED CHILDREN

About the Trip

On October 12th and 13th 40 volunteers will head down to Baja, MX to the Puerta de Fe, Buena Vida, and Eben-Ezer orphanages as part of a service weekend organized by ChangeFire.org.  Please help us to raise $30,000 to fund the construction of solar PV and solar water heating units - projects originated and managed by ChangeFire.org volunteers.  The projects generates significant financial and social returns:

• Each installation will generate $150,000-$350,000 in energy cost savings at each orphanage over the life of the project!  These savings will allow each orphange to take dozens of orphaned kids off the streets immediately and requires no ongoing management or investment.  
• The construction team at each site will include former orphans from each location who will gain critical job training and construction experience.  
• Volunteer architects, engineers and project managers from ChangeFire have already committed $15,000 dollars in in-kind volunteer hours to the project 
• Cost savings from the projects will fund the development of organic farming, education, and health care projects at each site further improving the lives of the children
