About Me

I joined TAC my freshman year. I grew close with the Teen Court committee and became a volunteer for the Teen Court program. Teen Court has helped me challenge myself to overcome my fear of public speaking as I stepped up to attorney positions to help peers in my community. 3 years later, I continue to volunteer and advocate for Teen Court! Sophomore year, I was on the Outreach committee where I urged students to join TAC through the biannual recruitment night. I was also part of the MAD grant screening process: it was truly inspiring to be able to approve and fund various service projects led by peers in my community. Last year, I joined the executive committee, becoming an Inreach co-chair with my best friend Robert. We both had an amazing time, helping new members as they began their TAC journey. This year, I am the Historian of TAC, serving an officer position. I’ve loved extending my love for photography to TAC, capturing joyful memories for members to reflect back on. YR has gifted me some of my closest friends and my fondest memories. YR has strengthened me as a person, all in the best interest of giving me the voice and power to help my community. Last year, YR helped extend my service project to students in TAC, collecting thousands of hygiene items that I was able to provide to those housed by the YWCA and Albion Fellows Bacon Center. As a non-profit organization, donations give YR the power to make an impact on students like myself. Please consider donating!!!

More Info

TAC's Executive Committee is a group of dedicated students who lead the Teen Advisory Council (TAC).

TAC engages teens from area high schools in youth-led leadership and community service projects. The Council collectively contributes thousands of hours of service within our community. Through TAC, teens plan and facilitate collaborative projects involving diverse community organizations, encourage civic responsibility among their peers, develop relationships with positive adult mentors, and build a stronger local community through their active leadership.

YR Day is a 24-hour online party and fundraising event for YR and the people who make YR possible (that’s you). Whether you’re a student, alumni, parent, volunteer or just a fan with a special place in your heart for YR - this celebration is for you!

YR’s mission is to inspire and develop our community of youth to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and civic engagement. Since 1987 we’ve worked with over 150,000 students and funded more than 3,310 service projects in 6 counties. Our alumni give, serve, and lead in education, healthcare, business, law, nonprofits, tech and more, using the skills they learned through YR’s programs.

Last year our students served over 8,000 hours with more than 100 local organizations, and they planned 63 service projects with their peers. They opened their hearts to the needs in our community and put their hands to work making a difference.
