About Us
Our Story
The Nepali Golden Church was born out of the struggles and triumphs of the Bhutanese refugee community. Our founder, Pastor Siman Ramdam, was born in Bhutan, where he and his family faced severe persecution for their Christian faith and Nepali culture. Forced to flee their homeland, they endured the harsh realities of life in refugee camps in Nepal, clinging to their faith and the hope of a better future.
That hope was realized when Pastor Siman and his family were resettled in America through the efforts of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). However, the challenges did not end there. The transition to a new country brought its own set of difficulties—depression, language barriers, and unemployment were just a few of the struggles faced by many in the community.
Determined to make a difference, Pastor Siman established the Nepali Golden Church in Lawrenceville, GA, as a sanctuary of hope and support for Bhutanese refugees and other immigrants. Today, our church serves as a spiritual home and a vital resource center, offering a wide range of services to help our community members thrive in their new lives.
Our Mission
At Nepali Golden Church, our mission is to serve the spiritual, emotional, and practical needs of the Bhutanese refugee community. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, purpose, and hope, and we are committed to helping our community members achieve this.
We strive to provide holistic support through our various programs, from spiritual guidance and English classes to job assistance and youth activities. Our goal is to empower refugees to overcome their challenges and build fulfilling lives in America.
Our Values
- Faith: We are rooted in our Christian faith and guided by its teachings in all that we do.
- Hope: We believe in a brighter future for all, no matter the obstacles.
- Community: We are stronger together, supporting one another in times of need.

Our Programs
Empowering Refugees Through Holistic Support
At Nepali Golden Church, we offer a variety of programs designed to meet the diverse needs of our community members. Whether you’re looking for spiritual support, practical assistance, or a sense of belonging, we are here to help.
Spiritual Guidance and Worship
Our church is the heart of our community, providing a place of worship, prayer, and spiritual nourishment. We host regular Sunday services, prayer meetings, and Bible studies in the Nepali language, offering comfort and encouragement to those who need it most.
English and Citizenship Classes
Language is a key barrier for many refugees, limiting their opportunities for employment and integration. Our English and Citizenship classes help community members improve their language skills, prepare for citizenship tests, and navigate life in America with confidence.
Youth and Children’s Programs
We believe in investing in the next generation. Our youth programs provide mentorship, academic support, and recreational activities to help children and teenagers thrive. From homework help to sports events, we create a safe and supportive environment for young people to grow.
Employment Assistance
Finding a job can be a daunting challenge for refugees. We offer job search support, resume writing assistance, and connections to local employers to help community members secure meaningful employment. Our goal is to empower individuals to achieve financial independence and stability.
Transportation Services
Access to reliable transportation is crucial for attending medical appointments, job interviews, and other essential activities. We provide free transportation services to ensure that no one in our community is left without a way to get where they need to go.
Food and Basic Necessities Distribution
No one should have to worry about where their next meal will come from. We organize regular food distribution events and provide essential items like clothing and hygiene products to those in need.
Gospel Conferences and Cultural Events
We celebrate our faith and heritage through gospel conferences and cultural events that bring our community together. These gatherings are a time of fellowship, worship, and cultural preservation, allowing us to stay connected to our roots while embracing our new lives in America.
