DUCKY DERBY HAS RAISED $2.5 MILLION FOR 65 NONPROFITS
Over the past 27 years, the Ducky Derby has raised nearly $3.0 Million for 65 nonprofit groups in the Rolling Fork Valley, specifically youth groups and scholarships, as well as charitable organizations around the world, like the Guatemala Literacy Project.
The Ducky Derby is the only source of fundraising for the Rotary Club of Aspen (AspenRotary.org). A novel idea conceived in 1992, the Ducky Derby annually floats approximately 30,000 yellow rubber ducks down a stretch of the Roaring Fork River in Aspen with the first ducks to cross the finish line winning prizes for their “adoptive parents”.
Each summer Aspen Rotarians and members of local youth groups solicit people to adopt “little yellow swimmers” for $15 per duck; Multiple duck purchases are available at discounted prices.
Our sponsors underwrite the event’s large operating costs…allowing 100% of the proceeds from duck adoptions to go directly to charitable works of locally and internationally.
*Any prizes not claimed six months after the event date will be forfeited.
