Hello, I am Vontina Shepherd. My husband is Edmond Thomas, Jr. Eddie and I were married on 12/2/22. Eddie had a brain stroke on 5/5/23. His stroke has left him 100 percent disabled and unable to walk, talk, move, and he is wearing a permanent catheter bag, and he is on a permanent feeding tube. His condition has left him needing care 24 hours a day.  He has been in and out of hospitals and rehab centers for the past almost 2 years. I have been fighting with the military to get his disability approved to no avail. I have been financially taking care of Eddie and my family alone for the past almost 2 years. I am currently unemployed because I recently finished a consulting project in my field of payroll implementation. I am in dire need of financial support until I can get another job. At one point, I was working on 4 projects to take care of Eddie and my family.

We were newlyweds when this tragedy happened, so I am taking care of Eddie at home because I do not want him in a nursing home. It's been very tough, but I am doing what I can to make sure he receives the love and support he deserves. His family have not been of any support which pains me because it often makes me wonder where he would be if he didn't have me in his life.  Sometimes I feel that I was chosen by God and God put me in his path because HE knew Eddie would need someone to take care of him.

While visiting hospitals, rehab centers, and doctor's offices, I have had so many strangers walk up to me and randomly Thank me for taking care of Eddie. It gives me the strength to keep doing what I can to take care of Eddie. People often call me his personal angel. I am not an angel- I am just a wife who took vows to stay by his side in sickness and in health.

If you would like more information regarding Eddie's current medical state, please feel free to email me at [email protected].  I will then respond and send you my personal phone number.

I am very grateful for any donations that are provided. I thank you in advance for any support.
