Mischa is seventeen years old and he lives with his family in eastern Ukraine, about an hour away from the front line. His father joined the military when Russia invaded over two years ago and Mischa's family struggles financially like so many families in Ukraine today. I got to know this young man through my volunteer work in Ukraine and now I am trying to help him participate in a summer internship in Alberta, Canada. Mischa aspires to be an automotive design engineer and a man named Bill Graham, who's known in the Edmonton community, is willing to help. Bill is chairman of the historical construction equipment association and he oversees the restoration work of hundreds of antique tractors, cars and trucks. I've seen his work first hand- it's amazing. For a young man who wants to understand the fundamentals of engine design this would be an inspiring place to start. Bill is willing to host and mentor Mischa for the summer. We just need to get him a visa (through a lawyer) and pay for his travel and living expenses.
