As members of the alumni board, we know firsthand the value that an education in public health or health administration offers. Our students come from all over to study with our faculty and prepare for careers as public health professionals and researchers. And it is our priority to ensure a variety of perspectives, backgrounds and cultures are represented and welcomed at the Fairbanks School of Public Health.
We are proud to share the launch of the first alumni board scholarship to support undergraduate students at the Fairbanks School of Public Health.
Currently, the average unmet financial need for FSPH students is approximately $5,498. Additionally, 41 percent of students enrolled at FSPH are first-generation students, a body of students who often lack financial resources. When the alumni board heard this, we all reflected on the remarkable work our students do before graduating, as well as in the community once they become alumni - and we decided to take action.
As a board, we have established a scholarship to help reduce the financial burden of our bright students. The alumni board has committed $1,150 in matching funds for all gifts made online before December 31st. We invite you to join us by making a gift today. All contributions made on this page will support the alumni board scholarship.
