FHL on Fire

Los Angeles was struck by the most devastating fire in US history causing many vulnerable individual and families with disabilities or pre existing health conditions to be displaced and without recourses. My name is Yasmeen, a Los Angeles resident, AYA cancer survivor and rare disease patient/ advocate now founder of the FHL on Fire (Faith, Hope, Love Los Angeles on fire).

The mission of FHL on Fire Foundation is to raise funds and collect donations of essential supplies to support the most vulnerable communities that have fallen victim to the Los Angeles fires. We focus on individuals with disabilities, pre-existing medical conditions, the elderly, and parents of disadvantaged children. At FHL on Fire we understand that losing access to medical equipment, medications, and everyday care items to this fire can be life-threatening/altering for these individuals, leading to long-term health consequences and in extreme cases injury and death. 

Our goal is to help these individuals recover what they’ve lost from the fire—by raising funds and gathering donations of critical items they need to survive. Many in this community are unable to work due to their circumstances and cannot afford to replace essential resources while also replacing basic needs like housing, food, and water that must come first. By contributing to FHL on Fire you will be supporting the needs of those often overlooked and return the feeling of saftey and smiles to their faces.

Witnessing the additional suffering of those who must work harder than most to reach a baseline of normality has struck really close to home. I am no stranger to health struggle of no fault of my own and my pledge in starting FHL on Fire  is to do everything in my power to raise money and give back to these often overlooked individuals with full transparency of funds and shared documented impact.
