Final Hyperthermia Trip

From Andrea Greenwall

I'm raising money for my trip to British Columbia, Canada for hyperthermia. Hyperthermia makes one of my chemo drugs more effective. This will be the sixth and, hopefully, final round.

Merry Christmas Eve! Thank you to all who donated! The trip was a success. Your funding exceeded my wildest expectations: 98%!! Now to wait for further testing to see about status of healthiness which will happen the first full week of January. May you and yours have a blessed Holiday Season, and Happy New Year!

More Info

Hyperthermia makes one of the chemo drugs, Doxil, more effective. I will have my sixth round of chemo for ovarian cancer stage 3C on Dec. 17, 2019. I will fly out immediately thereafter to go to British Columbia, Canada, where hyperthermia, and other IV treatments, will be done for the next four days. The goal is remission!

The general budget is:

  • $290 airfare (I used credit card points for the other $523)
  • $311 rental car ($51.83 per day)
  • $254 lodging ($50.80 per night)
  • $59 trip insurance (just in case something causes me to not be able to go)
  • $1,136 for hyperthermia treatment (4 at $284 each)
  • $432 for IV artesunate / ascorbic acid (2 at $216 each)
  • $533 for IV mistletoe (2 at $267 each)
  • $113 for consultation with doctor
  • $60 baggage fee ($30 each way)
  • $87 for acuptuncture treatment

TOTAL: $3,275
