Stroke Survivors CAN, Inc., a non profit started by Kevin Rhinehart, provides opportunities for stroke survivors through hope and empowerment, and by sharing his story to stroke survivors. He never would have gotten so far had it not be to generosity of other people and companies, and he seeks to return the favor!
Truly amazing... Inspiring... Words to describe what Kevin Rhinehart did since surviving a serious stroke in late January, 2012. He was unable to walk or talk, and his right hand and foot were useless.
Once the shock of the initial diagnosis wore off, he increasingly felt his life was over. Before the stroke, he was helping people deal with some pretty challenging things through his psychotherapy practice, and unwinding through playing his electric bass and participating in bands. Now, his passion and love for life was gone. He was just existing.
Fast forward to October, 2015, and he found himself volunteering at the World Championship Ironman in October 2015. He was so enthralled at the men and women taking the challenge of Ironman (swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run a full marathon--26.2 miles, all within 17 hours or less), he purposed to the do something like that.
Through countless hours of training, he has participated in triathlons, including the World Championship Ironman in Kona (2016), and the Boston Marathon (2018). He has changed his life from thinking life was over to living life with purpose and passion!
Your gift will provide ongoing funding to provide survivors of stroke in non-contact athletic events through sponsorships!
