Last day! Please help!
There are many things we take for granted here in America. If we need something, it's there. If we want something, we can usually work for it or buy it. In most of Haiti, this is not the case.
Myself (Julia's daddy) and a few other guys visited Haiti a few months ago to help fix a water treatment system and support some other infrastructure projects. While I was there, I saw what real poverty was like and how great of a need existed there for the most basic things.
Coming back, I wanted to convey to my family the impact of what I experienced there and we sought out projects where we could help.
My daughter, Julia, was inspired during a Life Church Life Kids event to set up a fundraiser to help the children I visited in Haiti.
We determined that it cost them approximately $2.22 a day to feed a child there. There are about 30 children in the orphanage, which amounts to a $2000 food budget per month. Her goal is to feed as many children as she can. She will also be selling mangoes (because we have a large mango tree) to help raise additional money.
We are directly supporting Together for Christ Ministries. I've worked with Pastor Volner personally and I love what he is doing in Haiti. They are a properly setup 501(c)(3) non profit. If you prefer, you can donate directly to them at http://tfchaiti.com/DONATE_TODAY.html.
Thank you very much!
