Iowans for Gaza's Orphans

More Info

In Gaza, since October 7th, 2024, more than 16,000 infants and children have been killed, another 20,000 have been severely injured, displaced, or orphaned as a result of the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. The total death toll stands at over 40,000 amongst all civilians.

Watching these atrocities from the other side of the Earth, it is easy to feel powerless in the face of such terror and hate, but there are millions of U.S. citizens who reject these horrendous acts, and want to aid the Palestinian people in any capacity. This fundraiser was born out of these ideas.

There will be an in-person fundraiser in support of the children of Palestine at The James Theater in Iowa City on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. This aims to be a night of community action, education, and information to remind us that while we find ourselves in dark times, we can begin to make change little by little so long as we stand together and fight for our beliefs. The belief that no person's life is worth any less than anybody else's. The belief that our country needs to end its funding of this genocide immediately. And the belief that there is hope on the horizon so long as we continuously make our unified stand.

All donated funds will be sent in full to the Pious Project and their campaign to support displaced orphans and children in Palestine. Children who are unable to defend themselves, unable to understand the situation around them, and unable to fight for their own freedom and rights. 40% of Gaza's population is under 14 years old. This is not a fight they will win on their own.

Any amount you are able to contribute will make meaningful differences in the lives of many. If you are unable to donate, please do what you can to remain educated about this ongoing genocide, and increase the awareness of those around you. This is for the children of Palestine. The lost souls, silenced voices, and most powerless among us. Meaningful change must be made together through true humanitarian actions, and we must condemn those who do not stand with humanity's greatest interests at heart.

Thank you for your time, support, and understanding. No one is free until we all are.
