Hi there! I am a high school student who plans on making 50 one of a kind face masks for refugee families as holiday gifts. Your donation will support us with the mask material costs and related expenses. Thanks!
Why Make Masks?
COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of many people around the world. My family and I wanted to do our best to help and contribute to our community during this difficult time. Sewing is something that I enjoy very much. I'm glad that we can support families by doing something we all enjoy. Together, we decided to start by making masks and planning on donating them to organizations that are in need of sewn masks. However, the cost of materials and related expenses, such as the wear and tear of the sewing machine is a financial issue for us. And therefore we came across Fundly, which we hope can support us with these costs. Any donation is appreciated!
Future Plan
Next week, we plan to donate our first batch of 20 face masks to the student from the refugee tutoring organization as a holiday gift. There will be another donation in December, and we will continue to look for organizations that need masks in the future. Updates will be posted according to events.
About the Mask
All the masks are made from two layers of 100% cotton fabric. They will be sanitized by UV light, and put in a sealed plastic bag. These masks do not protect the wearer as effectively as the N95 masks, yet they can still block up to 50-70% of fine droplets and particles, thus reduce the risk of infection.
