We are raising funds to support Mr. Barnett, who we have been working with through NYU’s Driver Protection Program. Mr. Barnett is a long-time Uber driver who was targeted by a racist undercover sting operation by NYPD and TLC officers, a racist and abusive practice now being challenged by a class action by Mobilization for Justice. Although Mr. Barnett believes this was an injustice, it is unfortunately difficult and time-intensive to challenge these cases at hearing. However, settling with TLC requires a significant cost of $500 or else Mr. Barnett is at risk of losing his driver’s license and livelihood for two months, putting him in a difficult financial situation. These funds will directly go towards assisting Mr. Barnett with the settlement. Anything helps, and we appreciate whatever support that you can offer!
