Junevieve Pales is a 17 year-old from Cebu City, Philippines. When she lost her leg to bone cancer at the age of 15, the other students teased her and took her crutches until she decided to drop out of school. We are raising money for a new prosthetic leg for Junevieve so that she can finish high school, gain freedom of mobility in an area where wheelchair accessibility is difficult, and have a greater sense of control over her future. Here's a belated update from Junevieve about her new leg. Thanks again everyone who donated to this campaign!
I would like to thank you so very, very much to all the people who sponsored my leg. I am so very happy because I can study and go out with my friends. This January I finish high school, and then hope to go on to college. I would like to say that my prosthetic leg has made a huge difference in my life and I would once again like to thank Elisabet of Rise Above Foundation and all those who contributed to my leg. God bless you all!!
