Further My Education to Give Back

My name is Jennifer and I’ve always dreamt of being a nurse from a little girl. I had the opportunity to become a patient care associate back in 1999 and I loved every minute of it. I’ve had the opportunity to work in different departments in healthcare. I’ve see that healthcare can be mean, ugly, nasty and downright dreadful as far as patients illnesses are concerned. I am presently working as an LPN in the hospitals and I absolutely love it. Love every minute of it. I want to return to school to be an RN to be able to get a better understanding of what these illnesses can do to a person and mentally. I want to be able to talk to them like a friend to help them to understand and not as a doctor as a nurse, but have the knowledge as a nurse to give them understanding, their illnesses. My plan is to return back to my country which is Barbados to help better the healthcare system there. With all the education that I’m proud to say I have learned in the US. I know I can help my people be able to understand their illnesses and don’t be afraid to tackle their illnesses don’t let the illnesses take control of them. Everyone wants to know a better way to battle, each, and every, and to have an explained to them where they can actually understand what’s happening with their bodies.

I say all this because I know that the money that I will raising from this fundraiser, it can help me return back to school, which will help me with the resources that I will need to help my people be able to understand their illnesses. I will also like to build them wellness retreat. A place where they can come and relax. Receive information on how to treat whatever illness they may have. How to overcome that they’re sick and how to move forward with their lives. How not to make the owners illness control them, but they control it.
