Obituary:
Captain Chris Coventon, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on November 15th. He was an outstanding Husband, Captain, Son, Brother and Uncle. Chris led an exciting, if somewhat unconventional life. We always encouraged him to write a book about his interesting escapades. A vet, he was a former member of the United States 101st Airborne Color Guard. He also worked as an “Englishman” on an Amish construction crew. He recently quickly worked his way up the ranks and became Captain of a Towboat. However, his greatest and most cherished accomplishment was being “Dada” to his 7 beautiful children.
His loving spirit can be seen in his children. These outstanding kids run a working farm. The older boys get up at 4 am to do the farm chores and then get straight to their homeschooling lessons. Chris’ adventurous lifestyle is reflected in his children’s hunting, fishing and camp activities. Chris’ most admirable characteristic was his willingness to help anyone. You can witness his giving spirit in his children who always are looking for a way to serve others. His surviving children Isaac(11), Joshua(9), Samuel (7), Josiah(5), Raychel(4), Frankie(2) and Abigail (1) will always cherish the memories of a loving and protective father.
His wife, Becky, is the strongest woman we know. She is the standard all moms should strive to be. She homeschools, runs the farm, keeps up with extracurricular activities, and somehow gets all 7 kids up and ready for church every Sunday.
Other family members include his parents, Dennis (deceased) and Michaela Coventon, Kevin and Ingrid Lingenfelter, siblings Kari (Wes) Matlock, Dennis (Heather) Coventon, Matt Coventon, Matt (Jackie) Lingenfelter, Betsy (Tommy) Matthews and several nephews and nieces.
Chris and Becky are both devout Christians with unwavering faith. It is now our job to be God’s earthly hands and continue to lift and support this special family.
Captain Chris Coventon, age 35, tragically died Friday November 17, 2017. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 12 years, Becky, age 30. Their family of 7 children lived outside Bowen, IL on their family farm. The children's names are Isaac, 11, Joshua, 9, Samuel, 7, Josiah, 5, Raychel, 4, Frankie, 2, and baby Abigail, 1.
If you feel led to come along side this family and bless them in this time of need, please feel free to do so here. All donations will go directly to Becky.

First Thanksgiving without Dada, by Becky Coventon, wife of Chris Coventon:
This last summer we bought a couple baby Turkies, we named one Thanksgiving and planned on eating him for Thanksgiving on our trip to Colorado, yes we're a little red neck.
Well, the Sunday before he passed the kids and I were having our typical conversation on the blue tooth in the van with Dada on the way to church. I mentioned to him how friendly Thanksgiving was and we should talk about keeping him. Chris immediately took a vote amongst the kids and of course the vote was unanimous. So, it was settled. This is what he wrote on our Coventon Family conversation....
I am dismayed to report that Thanksgiving(the turkey) will not be making our previously planned dinner arrangements due to a unanimous vote of the Coventon funny farm department of labor. He has officially been pardoned from his noble task until circumstances pertaining allow no other options. So -We need a turkey.
Please, continue to pray for us as we celebrate our first Thanksgiving without Daddy. Thank you all for your support, it means so much to me right now.
Picture: Josh(9) with "Thanksgiving". The kids picked the name.

It is with GREAT JOY I am bumming up the fundraising goal! We have all given over $5,000 to The Coventon Clan!!!
Community is so important to this family right now! And there is so much more that is needed for The Coventon Clan.
I think one of the funnier things that has happened is a week ago, on the same day their toilet wouldn't flush, one of the kids toothbrushes went missing....hmm we can all guess what happened there. Kids will be kids, so keep blessing this wonderful and deserving family!!!
Thank you & God Bless
