Google Glass for Construction

Me, My Reason for Trying, and the Drive to Achieve a Dream:

Hello, my name is Damani Richardson. I'm an upcoming developer and recent highschool graduate. My interests  have always been in technology from youth till now, and I believe that Google Glass will innovate technology in a revolutionary way. Unfortunately, many see Google Glass as a bad addition to the world, and I can understand that. As we become more advanced technologically, new revolutionary ideas will come to be that change the way we live our lives. Let's face it, many of us fear change; however, it would be ridiculous of us to let this fear prevent us from embracing the future. With the Explorer program, Google has given a few lucky individuals the opportunity to show the world that the new isn't that scary. They allow Explorers to show everyone that the future isn't something to fear; its something to embrace. Google Glass opens up a whole new world of possibilities that will change the world for the better. When I learned about Glass, this revelation came over me, and my passion to be an Explorer has been growing ever since. With your help I can put this passion to good use and change the world for the better. Spreading the word and introducing the world to glass is my primary objective in becoming an Explorer, and I plan to apply this new technology to construction by using Glass to overlay schematics on projects such as on a house or a simple lathe project. 

How My Ideas, Passion, and Google Glass will Change the World:

A great woman once told me that technology doesn't change the world, people do. WIth the Explorer Program, I can do just that. The application I currently working on will act as step-by-step guid to complete any given project that you have in mind. Be it as simple as a Origami Crane or as complex as a hand-made chair, the app will have a data base of projects that will given even the most inexperienced individuals the opportunity to create amazing projects.Since Google Glass is a handsfree device, the instruction process can be done as you complete the project. My project may not be the solution to many of the worlds biggest problems, but it will take care of the daily struggle of paying other individuals to do a project you can simply do yourself with a little bit of instruction.

 How supporting this campaign help others and change the world for the better and how the money will be used: 

As previously discussed, I will be personally developing an application for Google Glass that will assist others in doing creative projects. The display on Glass will provide step by step instructions from start to finish. However, I will not limit myself to my own endeavors. Already other Explorers have created  wonderful projects like the OpenGlass Project. This allows people who are visually impaired to detect what's ahead of them and gives them greater freedom that was impossible before. As a fellow Explorer I can test and support projects like these and help them come to the mainstream consumer faster. Applications like these will change the world for the better, and I believe that I can help them come to fruition. The funds donated to this campaign will go to helping me purchase Glass so that I can create and help support other Explorers, but more importantly, it will help me spread the word about Glass. It will help the transition to a new era of technology be smoother, less filled with fear and speculation. This is my primary goal in wanting to become an explorer. A technology that no one accepts will never be able to change the world even if it is useful and productive. Although my funds are limited by my lot in life, this doesn't change my passion for Glass or my drive to change the world through Glass. Help me put this passion to good use. We can change the world with Google Glass.

Where Will the Funding Collected be Going?

All procedes raised will go into money i'm collecting to join the Explorer Program. I have a burning passion for Google Glass, and I believe that this investment is one made for the sake of innovation and the common people. I do not have the skill to be the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs, but even so I want to create innovative applications that will help the common individual in their daily lives. Help me give back to the world and support my project. You can trust me when I say I will give back to the world for the support I am given.

All the perks listed below are all projects I will create by hand on my lathe. Each one will be unique and special. Also, the perks stack up. The more you donate, the more rewards you get! Each individual that supported me will be listed on my blog, and everyone who funds this project will have their name inscribed on the Supporter Cylinder. I will also become extremely active on Twitter and other social media sites where you can see the world though Glass if you are interested and passionate about this technology like I am. I truly want to give back to those who support this new technology and those who want to innovate with it. Please help me to make this dream of mine come true!
