“Habitat for Humanity International- Global Village El Salvador” 2013

Dear amiguitos! :)

On November 30th, 2013 I will be volunteering with “Habitat for Humanity International- Global Village El Salvador” - an organization dear to my heart -  to build a house in partnership with a family in need. I, along with a group of other volunteers, will be working alongside local masons and community members to build a house for a Salvadoran family. My team will be part of a blitz build, which is often flurry of activity. In order to make my mission a reality, I need your help, support, and generosity. My goal is to raise $2200 by the end of November which will cover $1660 towards the cost of the trip  $350 to hold my place in the program, and $190 that will go towards the cost of airfare.

Building a Habitat Home is something that reverberates throughout communities across the globe. Habitat’s ability to give individuals living in substandard housing, and teetering on the edge of poverty a chance to own a home is unprecedented.  From home maintenance classes to health screenings, Habitat is a comprehensive and life changing program that continues to assist and support “Habitat Families” for the rest of their lives.  By providing homeowners with education and the resources necessary to secure their livelihood, Habitat for Humanity looks to break the cyclical nature of poverty one family, one community at a time.

Since 1992, Habitat for Humanity El Salvador has provided more than 10,300 housing solutions, providing simple, decent and affordable shelter for more than 51,500 families in El Salvador. HFH El Salvador works with the central office in San Salvador and seven regional offices in San Miguel, Santa Ana, Sonsonate, Usulutan, La Paz, San Vicente and San Salvador.
