Help a New Grad with Multiple Sclerosis Transition

From Denise Turner

I'm asking for help to cover living expenses for the next few months. Multiple Sclerosis symptoms have prevented me from working consistently. I need help as I prepare to begin a new career in accounting.

I am reaching out with a humble heart and a hopeful spirit. My name is Denise, and I recently completed my master’s degree in May 2024, following the completion of my Bachelor's degree in May 2023. This achievement is a dream come true and one that I’m extremely proud of. As an adult learner, it has taken several years to reach this milestone as my father, the breadwinner for seven, couldn’t afford to send me to college right after high school. After much determination, I finally did it. My journey has been far from easy, and I find myself in need of your support.

For as long as I can remember, education has been my passion and my pathway to a better future. I’m very close to bringing that future to fruition. I worked tirelessly while completing my Bachelor's degree, balancing work and studies to make ends meet. However, my situation took a challenging turn while pursuing my Master's.

I have multiple sclerosis, a chronic illness that has progressively made my everyday life more difficult. The symptoms have been unpredictable and often debilitating, making it impossible for me to maintain a job while completing my degree. Despite these challenges, I persevered and graduated, but the struggle has left me in a precarious financial position.

Currently, I am actively pursuing various means of earning income while working closely with my physicians to improve my health. Typically, employers in my field conduct their annual rolling call for recruitment in the fall, and I am determined to be prepared and in good health for that opportunity. Additionally, I am diligently studying for the CPA exams, aiming to complete all sections before the end of the year. Your support will help me navigate this challenging period and position myself for a successful career launch.

I am seeking financial assistance to help cover my living expenses for at least the next three months. However, my immediate concern is covering next month’s expenses. Your support will help me pay for rent, utilities, groceries, insurance, gas, phone, and other monthly expenses.

Your generosity will not only provide me with the financial stability to get through this critical period but also give me the peace of mind to focus on securing income without the constant worry of financial insecurity. Every dollar counts, and no amount is too small. Even if you are unable to donate, sharing my story with your network would mean the world to me.

I am immensely grateful for any support you can offer, whether through a donation or simply spreading the word about my campaign. Your kindness and compassion will make a profound difference in my life as I transition from student to professional despite the challenges posed by my illness.

In addition to this Fundly campaign, I have also set up fundraisers on GoFundMe, FundRazr, and FreeFunder to reach a wider audience. Any support through any platform is deeply appreciated.

Please know that I’m sorry to ask this of you, as I am aware many are experiencing economic hardships. However, I ask because I do not have any other recourse, and the first of the month is days away. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story and considering helping me during this difficult time.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Denise Turner
