Hello family, friends, and those blessed to have met my brother and friend Antoine Morris. On April 16, 2024, while working out at the gym, Antoine suffered a Left MCA Stroke (Left Middle Cerebral Artery-M1). This type of stroke is considered to be a very aggressive and damaging type of stroke as it controls his right side mobility, speech, language, and cognitive capacities.
He's currently fighting his way back after receiving two successful emergency surgeries on his head. One to remove the large clot in his Middle Cerebral Artery (the largest artery in the middle of the brain) and another to remove a large piece of his skull to allow room for the swelling in his brain to occur without becoming life-threatening, both procedures being considered life-saving. He is also dealing with a DVT (blood clot) in his leg which is unable to be treated during this time due to his recent surgeries aforementioned.
Currently, he is making his way through the most important phase of his recovery, the initial 72-96 hours, which greatly dictates where his overall recovery will begin.
Many of you may be aware that after climbing the corporate ladder in leadership at Amazon, he recently branched out to focus 100% on his Trucking Business, ADM Elite Trucking. In this recent transition, Antoine was in between insurance coverage, and unfortunately, is now experiencing the fight of his life without coverage.
With any stroke, let alone the type Antoine is fighting through, the amount, frequency, and approach to care is astronomically important, and without the kind of care we know exists for those who can afford it, he will not have the chance to tell his jokes, give encouraging and loving words to those he loves and believes in, live life like he knows how and inspires others to, and tell those he loves just how much.
Though our family is and will continue to do everything we can to pay for the level of treatment he deserves, the costs of such treatment moves us to reach out and say, WE NEED YOUR HELP! The type of care Antoine will need for his long recovery will be very costly, but we know that those he has been there for, loved on, shared his presence and amazing good-spirited energy, and those who call him friend, family, and loved one will step up and support his recovery efforts.
