Hello everyone,
My name is Yannick, I'm 40 years old, and I live in Martinique, in the French West Indies. Today, I'm writing to ask for your help for my beloved grandmother, Henriette, who is 89 years old. She has always given her time, love, and kindness to her family and everyone she met.
If she could, she would offer shelter and food to those who came to her home. She is the kind of grandmother that everyone deserves to have. In September 2023, our lives changed drastically when she had to undergo an amputation of her left leg due to acute ischemia. Acute ischemia occurs when blood can no longer flow properly to a part of the body due to a blockage, preventing that part from receiving the oxygen and nutrients it needs.
In January 2024, she motivated herself and tried the program for a femoral-level prosthesis.
After 6 months of rehabilitation work and the will to move forward, our grandmother's heart became weakened, leading to complications, and she had to stop the hospital program.
Today, my grandmother is back home, but she has to live under home hospitalization.
Our resources are limited, and we face many challenges to ensure her well-being and safety. To cope with this situation, we need 3,000 euros. These funds will be used to:
1 - Adapt the house to her disability:
Make her environment accessible and safe by installing ramps, an adapted bathroom, and specialized equipment.
2 - Purchase a respirator:
Ensure she has the necessary equipment to breathe comfortably at home.
3 - Renovate unsanitary conditions:
Repair and improve the living conditions of our home to create a healthy and dignified environment for her.
4 - Acquire an adapted vehicle:
Allow my grandmother to travel safely for her medical appointments and other daily needs.
To support my grandmother, I had to change jobs to one with a lower salary so I could have the time to take care of her, as she has completely lost her autonomy. Despite her advanced age and many challenges, my grandmother maintains an indomitable spirit and a smile that lights up our lives. She deserves to live her remaining years with dignity and comfort. Every contribution, big or small, will be a precious stone in building a better future for Henriette.
Your generosity can make a huge difference in her life and that of our family.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and solidarity.
With gratitude, Yannick
