Please, help me save the man I love from a nervous breakdown

For the last 7 years Eric had poured his blood, sweat, tears, and oodles of money into building his dream car, his Whippled Buick Riviera. On 10/25/13 he started his new job and had a great day. Around 2pm he was on the expressway when he smelled gasoline and smoke coming from the engine area and pulled over immediately. He grabbed the fire extinguisher that was in his back seat, but could not open the hood. He continued to try his best to put out the flames around the hood. 2 men with some fire safety company pulled over and started to try and extinguish the fire with their equipment. Unfortunately it was too late and Eric had to stand their and watch the last 7 years of hard work just burn.

I know some people might think it's petty to start a fundraiser to buy him a new car, but I'm betting many of you know what it's like to be without transportation or money. I also know many people may wonder about the insurance, which he had liability but not comprehensive. He's a mechanic and figured if he ever got into an accident he could just put humpty back together again...which he had already done once, after a severe accident 3 years ago let the entire driver side totalled.

So, he didn't just build this car, he had already rebuilt it once....Unfortunately this fire left him with nothing left to salvage.

For the time being my brother is letting him drive his car to and from work, but that's only until my brother has rehabilitated and is able to walk again (not related to this accident).

I set a reasonable goal. We aren't looking to replace a one of a kind, just give him hope and let him know that people care.
