Help Salem Dalia And Family

More Info

Salem Hossam Al-Sahbani, a young man of 24, stands as a pillar of strength amidst his family's relentless trials. Forced from their home in Gaza City to Rafah, and then to Deir al-Balah, Salem's journey echoes the displacement and turmoil that have torn apart his dreams.

Salem and Dalia married in August 2024. They are expecting a baby.

Salem was hurt by shrapnel in his chest and arm shortly before they married. They both have been suffering with a skin fungal disease. The medicine for the skin disease is very expensive and they cannot afford it.

Beside Salem, his family bears the heavy burden of illness and injury. Ibrahim, Salem's brother, suffers from a worsening eye injury that threatens his sight with each passing day. Their father, Hossam, battles heart disease exacerbated by a recent stroke, a cruel reminder of the fragility of life in the midst of conflict. Salem's mother, grappling with diabetes and high blood pressure, faces the daunting challenge of securing medical care in a place where even the most basic necessities are scarce.

Desperate to secure a future free from the constant threat of violence and with an urgent need to evacuate, Salem embarks on a daunting quest to raise $100,000. This sum is not just a number; it represents their ticket to safety, their lifeline out of Gaza to Egypt. Each dollar pledged carries the weight of a thousand prayers for a chance at a new beginning.

The cost is steep: $5,000 for each adult, $2,500 for every child under twelve, just to cross the border to safety. Yet, beyond the immediate escape, there lies the daunting task of rebuilding. They need funds for essentials to survive each day in Gaza's unforgiving reality, and once in Egypt, for the daunting endeavor of starting anew - an apartment, living expenses, and the promise of stability they so desperately seek.
