Hi, my name is Fernanda. My fiancé and I met in 2022. We already started my application for a K-1 visa and have been scheduled for an interview in June 2024. However, we are currently going through a rough patch. I am currently unemployed with no savings as I am living with my parents while I get certified in Web Development & Cloud computing on a social program called “Mujer Digital”. I expect to get a job in this field after the learning phase when they help us connect with associated companies willing to hire entry-level employees, but unfortunately, that’s not going to happen before my interview. My fiancé works in the manufacturing field, the company he works for is about to shut down temporarily, so he is involuntarily staying home for about 9 days. As you can imagine, this puts a lot of pressure on us as we don’t have a lot of savings, and he’s going to get a large cut of income and still has some debt he’s been paying monthly.
The visa process has more fees than we expected and could not be done in my city, so I need to travel to another state for the consular interview and medical examination. This is why I decided to come here asking for help. I don’t need thousands of dollars, just enough to cover the expenses for the flight, stay at a hotel for a week, and the medical exam fees, which total around 900 USD.
