We were just trying to have a good day. That’s it. A regular afternoon at the park—sunshine, snacks, and a chance for my kids to laugh and play.
But then the noise hit. A dog barked. A kid screamed too close to her ear. A loudspeaker announced something in the distance. And suddenly, my 4-year-old daughter, Triniti, was on the ground, melting down—her little body overwhelmed by sounds, sights, and sensations she couldn’t control.
I dropped to my knees to help her. I tried to breathe slowly, to whisper the calming words I always do. And that’s when I noticed it. The stares. Other moms just stood there, watching. Whispering. One even told her child, No one offered help. No one asked if we were okay. Just stares. Judgments. Isolation.
Meanwhile, my 2-year-old son—who also didn’t understand what was happening—started crying too. He melted down just because we had to leave. Because his sister was hurting. Because their fun day was over before it even began.
I was carrying two crying kids in my arms, shaking, holding back tears myself… trying to explain to Triniti what just happened, why we had to go. How do you explain the world isn’t built for you to a child who’s just trying to swing on a playground?
That was the day I knew I had to do something. Because this isn’t just about my kids.
It’s about every neurodivergent child who’s punished for existing in a world that won’t bend to meet them. And every parent who's ever felt alone, judged, or broken, just trying to help their child feel safe.
And now we’re raising $20,000 to build the Wiggles & Giggles Sensory Adventure Zone—a place where:
Meltdowns are understood, not judged
Sensory needs are met with joy, not shame
Neurodivergent kids can play, grow, and be free
Parents can breathe, connect, and stop apologizing
This center will have sensory gyms, calm-down spaces, art rooms, therapy hubs, parent resources—and most importantly, compassion baked into every corner.
Sensory-safe equipment
Renovations to create calming, accessible rooms
Staff training in trauma-informed care
Tools that help neurodivergent kids thrive
This isn’t just a project. It’s a promise to my kids—and every family like mine—that the world can be better.
If you’ve ever felt the ache of being unseen… if you’ve ever wished someone had helped you instead of judged you… Donate. Share. Build this with me.
Let’s create the place we all needed that day at the park. Because every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated—especially in their hardest moments.
