I continue to be very focused on the Relay mission - to Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back! My strength and energy for Relay is always focused on these three facets and all my fundraising support is sent ACS's way - in order to celebrate those victories, remember those we have lost, and fight back for those currently in the battle.
No one ever wants to hear the words, "You have cancer". I have heard that phrase twice in my life. It is something that stays with you forever. I was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2006 and kidney cancer in 2007. I never feel totally comfortable or totally safe from hearing those words again. That is why I became involved in Relay for Life events over 15 years ago. I want to continue to help raise funds for research. I want to keep my family and friends as safe as possible from this life-changing diagnosis. Please get involved in any way you can to help - it really does have a huge, positive impact!
