With shattered hearts, we share that our sweet Isabelle-Mae gained her wings at 4 weeks old. Last Sunday afternoon, our angel went to sleep for a nap and never woke up.
Words can’t adequately express our gratitude for all who worked tirelessly to try to save our beautiful girl Sunday evening through Monday afternoon including grandpa John Wallace who started CPR, 911 dispatch, the firefighters and EMS who responded to the call and rushed her to the hospital, the providers at Sharp Grossmont for initial care, the amazing Rady’s transport team, the providers and staff who walked us through an impossible journey at Rady Children’s Hospital, and our family who accompanied us there.
The unthinkable has happened, our hearts and family are forever changed by the loss of Bella. Nobody ever imagines death while soaking in the love of a new baby. While Paige & Cyle begin to navigate their grief, they are continuously pulled back into planning and logistics that accompany loss. They are in need of financial support of family, friends, community, and are so deserving of kindness of others.
There are unexpected medical bills from both Grossmont Hospital and Rady Children’s Hospital, ambulance fees for both transports, mortuary and funeral expenses all coming up. They desperately need funds for long term grief therapy from providers who specialize in infant loss (not covered by insurance). Paige has also used up her maternity leave while recovering from birth, her body is still healing postpartum and she is continuing to collect Bella’s milk to donate to other babies in need. Extra funds gathered will be used to allow Paige and Cyle this critical time to grieve and begin to heal before needing to return to work.
Isabelle-Mae was such a special soul. She is loved beyond words and we miss her every second. We cherish the 4 weeks we had with her and also feel that it was never enough time. We would give anything to have her back.
We are so thankful for any support given. Even the smallest donation makes a difference. Please share whether you can donate or not so this reaches a wider community.
