I've been involved with IMA for over fifteen years. I first visited in 1998 to teach English over the summer and fell in love with Guatemala, the Guatemalan people and the girls at IMA's school. I also learned about IMA's programs and the impacts they were making on the lives of the severely impoverished families of Guatemala City. From there began a passion that has continued to this day. I have been able to be a part of dozens of groups, projects and special programs which have helped enrich the lives of the girls and current help to support IMA's programs as the organization's treasurer. IMA is making an impact one girl and one family at a time.
IMA is a global organization dedicated to improving the lives of young girls and women in Guatemala, Central America through education. IMA operates a non-profit school for girls where their health is maintained, their nutrition is supervised, and they are provided a first-world education in tandem with tangible skills that enable them to become contributing members of society and the formal economy.
Ninety-four percent of all charitable donations are used towards providing education, food, medical assistance and day-to-day necessities for these young children.
On August 17th, IMA will be holding its Annual Walk-a-thon at Bolsa Chica State Beach from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Any and all are welcome to participate and support our work in Guatemala. This is our biggest annual fundraiser and it is critical to keeping our programs strong and our girls in school.
IMA is fully sponsor support and relies on the efforts of its donors and volunteers to provide its exceptional programs in Guatemala. Join us today in helping change the lives of young women in need.
