I can't believe it's been twelve years already. From the first time we tried to figure out what was wrong with our little girl. It's been a medical roller coaster ride. Three major research hospitals, multiple ambulance runs, over 20 blood transfusions alone so far. Not to count the transfusions of various medicines to try and treat the autoimmune disease that was causing her white blood cells to eat her red ones. Through it all she has stayed mostly upbeat, as cheerful as she can be, and a light in our dark place. But the bills, or how the bills grew. Even with insurance.
