While I would love a chance to represent USA and have proven my potential in Skeleton, a limiting factor is experience on the right equipment. Skeleton is a self-funded sport so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Any couches I could surf on this map?
Due to the warm weather sliding as been cancelled until tomorrow. We still race on Sunday and Monday at 10:30 EST and I'll post the link to watch live over the weekend. On Tuesday a teammate and I will be driving out to Park City, UT and are hoping to split up the trip somewhere around Cleveland, OH and Lincoln, NE. Any leads on places to stay would be most appreciated!
Take care,
Kelly
As you may have heard during these past Summer Olympics, Team USA isn't officially supported by the government. Although, a number of my teammates are on government assistance programs so in a round about way, we sort of are. The typical US slider will work tirelessly throughout the offseason and live off their savings during the season. Any odd job I work goes directly into supporting my sport. Some of those jobs include being a Program Coordinator for Rennert International's Summer Teen Program, a substitute teacher, a dog-walker, and most recently a Dick's Sporting Goods Team USA Contender.
I have my M.Ed. and have been made aware that I can make money doing virtually anything else. It's strictly a volunteer sport until you have proven yourself capable of competing at the top level. I also believe that I will be a successful skeleton slider so I have to humbly ask for your support. This season will position sliders leading into the Olympic year and the years to come.
In a nutshell, it's my duty as part of Team USA Skeleton to make sure we send our best sliders to the World Championships and Olympic Games. Of course my long term goal is to podium at one of these, however the road is very long in the niche sport of Skeleton. Frankly, I'm excited to see what happens next.
●USA Bobsled and Skeleton Athletes are self-funded until they reach the World Cup Level
●Medal Contending Skeleton Sliders have a fast push start (✔3rd fastest in USA),are heavy (✔ 165# solid) and have experience on the best equipment (✅ still on starter sled)
●Starter sled has introduced me to the sport but I will need to update my equipment to be competitive
•Competitive Sled=$8,000
•Uvex Helmet=$500

Flying back up to Lake Placid, NY tomorrow for the first two races of Team Trials. It is split up between 4 races, two in NY on Oct 23, 24 and two in Park City, UT on Nov 1,2. The teams will be announced on Nov 3rd and everyone will go their separate ways and represent Team USA around the world. I finished in 4th place during our push championships last month in Calgary, CA. Hopefully I will be able to wiggle my way into a spot on the development squad. Either way, I'm planning on spending significant time in Park City since that track will be crucial in upcoming Team Trial races. Last year I wasn't quite ready coming off of my injuries and ended up leaving a little bit of arm on the track.
I could still really use the support since my credit limits are shrinking :(
Thank you to all those who have reached out so far!
Take care,
Kelly
