Dear Cardinals family,
You may already be aware that Kensington Baseball Club was the victim of a cyber attack on our bank account, which resulted in the loss of $22,000 - the entire balance of our operating account.
We are working through steps with our bank and insurance company, but at this stage it seems unlikely that we will be able to recover the funds that were stolen. The Board has taken the appropriate steps to ensure this type of attack will not happen again and we have secured a new account that has more appropriate security measures in place.
We have a small savings account that is still available and will see us through immediate expenses such as rent and electricity ensuring that we can continue to operate in the coming weeks.
The operating account was where our sponsorship income, memberships and takings over the bar and canteen were deposited and we are devastated, angry and apologetic that all of this hard work by our volunteers and families has been dashed.

The Club will be holding a fundraising round in the New Year and we are asking our family to donate any amount or contribute an item that we can raffle on the day. We know that with the support of our community, we will be able to continue operations through until the remainder of the season with the view to reach our 100 years in 2026.
More information on the fundraising round will be communicated in due course, but in the meantime please contact us if you can commit an item for donation or please consider a cash donation.
