The three primary types of label adhesive applications are repositionable, permanent, and removable. The first step in selecting the appropriate adhesive is classifying the application into one of these categories, which indicates the degree of adhesiveness the glue should offer. It should have enough tack when applying removable PET label adhesive to hold the surface firmly without strengthening; this is how it will stay. Every kind of label has a unique purpose and set of uses.

PS Labels, also known as pressure-sensitive labels, adhere to surfaces with the help of an adhesive. Label converters use three primary types of adhesives: repositionable, removable, and permanent. Every kind of adhesive has qualities of its own.

Premature labels falling off can be expensive and time-consuming for a company to fix. Stores can't sell inventory without a prime label and believe "the label should stick. If application problems do occur, Hub Labels will collaborate with you, the manufacturer of the label applicator equipment, and the label manufacturer from which we get our labels to minimise downtime.

You should use freezer-grade label adhesives on your packaging materials if your product will be stored continuously at temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit or above 80 degrees Fahrenheit during its life cycle. Because these adhesives have higher strength properties at lower temperatures, they perform better in cold weather than other types.

Adhesives for permanent labels are the least expensive option. Permanent adhesives are appropriate for a wide range of PET label applications and provide a strong bond wherever they are applied. If removed, permanent adhesives will probably cause damage to a surface.

After application, repositionable label adhesives can be briefly removed and reapplied. This adhesive can save you time and money when labels need to be removed for repositioning (like a crooked label on a container) or reapplied to another surface with minimal adhesion loss. Based on the formulation, there are differences in the duration between the first application and permanent bonding.

For a set amount of time after application, removable adhesive labels enable you to remove them without causing damage to either the label or the application surface. Temperature, however, may have an impact on this functionality's integrity. Due to their distinct qualities, label adhesives vary even more from one another within these broad categories of pressure-sensitive adhesives.

A general adhesive works well on many surfaces and is appropriate for most labels. There is no special preparation needed for this kind of label adhesive. Although it applies to other surfaces as long as they are clear of dust and other debris that can prevent the adhesive from bonding, it works best on clean, dry surfaces.

The type of adhesive can also depend on requirements specific to the application. For instance, in the food and beverage sector, bottles of carbonated beverages typically expand, applying pressure to the label, and some containers are hot-filled to sterilise the contents. For these applications, the adhesive must be appropriate for the particular surface, the temperature, and the amount of give required for the label to stretch.
