From Husam Kattab

I am Muhammad, a resident of Gaza. I dreamed of studying engineering, but the war going on here in Gaza prevented me from doing so after my university was bombed, so I want to travel to achieve my dream since childhood.

More Info

I have had the dream of studying engineering since childhood, but now that my dream has become more important and my goal of studying engineering has become an inevitable goal in relation to what I saw of the urgent need for engineers in my city of Gaza in this war that we are still living in until this moment. I write this letter after more than eight months of bombing, destruction, famine and genocide to which we have been subjected. I took the first steps to achieving my dream after I finished high school and obtained a 92.4% average after struggle and study. I registered at Al-Azhar University and specialized in mechatronics engineering. I started studying in September 2023, and I only completed about two weeks on the path of my dreams before this war began and the occupation bombed and demolished my university, as it did in all the universities in the Gaza Strip, and my dream vanished with it. The financial burden on my father has become unbearable, especially in light of the bad conditions caused by the war and the destruction of my home. It may take my father many years to rebuild it and put in everything he possibly owns. In the end, I aspire to be an exceptional engineer in my field, in order to help the people of my city, Gaza. So I hope to pursue my dream of studying this major as soon as possible.
