This event and fundraiser is to benefit our unhoused neighbors in the Hamline Midway Neighborhood of St Paul. My children, Paisley (9) and Marlow (7), have taken the lead in this initiative.

Last summer, they held a lemonade sale in front of our house, raising money for toys they were excited about. This year, they wanted to do another lemonade stand but had a different idea for how the money raised could be best spent. Paisley noticed the growing presence of unhoused neighbors during bus rides home from school and walks through the neighborhood. It troubled them that so many people were in need when many in our neighborhood, including our family, had all their needs met.

As both Paisley and Marlow began planning this year's sale, Paisley had a new idea: let's use the money we raise to help our unhoused neighbors. I reached out to some parents in the neighborhood, asking if their children would like to get involved as well. Kids love to help, and while discussing homelessness and poverty with our children can be challenging, they see the need themselves and want to make a difference.

We've been gathering to create art for the sale, and on Saturday, July 20, from 2-4 PM, we'll set up our lemonade and art stand. All proceeds will be donated to outreach organizations working directly with neighbors impacted by homelessness.

In addition to buying lemonade or art, or if you can't join us in person, please consider donating directly through this page. Your support will impact the lives of those in need in our community.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping our children learn the value of giving back.
