LightHouse Launch

A year in the planning, our lifetimes in preparation, and we are about to open LightHouse's doors.

We have received SO MUCH HELP this year.  And now we're asking for money, too :)  We're ready, LightHouse is ready, now we need to make it accessible for our many teens who would like to attend but can't possibly pay the full tuition.

Every contribution helps! Together they add up and equal opportunity.

We are about to demonstrate what is possible in education.  Respect, compassion, joy, focus- all normal and integral parts of the day at LightHouse.  And thanks to you, accessible to All.

LightHouse exists to support young people in discovering and creating their best possible selves through individualized, flexible, and inspired collaborations between staff and teens. Guided by an advisor, learners take responsibility for their own education, envisioning and realizing their own goals at their own pace.

Imagine education that is truly student-focused, personalized, community-based, using all the resources that the 21st century has to offer.  That's what we're doing.

LightHouse serves the most interesting teens in Hampden County:  Teens who for one reason or another are dissatisfied with a traditional schooling experience and are interested in learning to live their lives in a more empowered way. 

Education can be much more than something you endure.

LightHouse offers a truly personalized experience, a community of students working together and individually, each at their own pace and on work that is personally interesting and meaningful.

We believe that the best preparation for a meaningful and productive future is a meaningful and productive present.  LightHouse teens get to start now.

Our beautiful new facility is in the Innovation District of Holyoke, and includes a maker space and a music studio in addition to classrooms and a safe, welcoming, friendly common room.

Education can be about inspiration, and choice.  We can build on strengths.  We can meet each student where they are, and help them to envision, prepare for, and achieve the future of their choice.  LightHouse is based on a model that has been thriving for 20 years, with hundreds of successful alumni. It is both innovative and tested.

Now available in Hampden County, with your support.  Our program is tuition-based, but we serve many families who cannot afford the full fee.  Your donation makes our program accessible, and offers this opportunity to ALL students regardless of their family's economics.
