Hurricane Helene slammed 8' of storm surge, sewage, mud, dead fish and hurricane force winds into Manatee Landing Retreat. Weeki Wachee is devastated. Ilyse & Eliot are warriors and are pulling out every piece of furniture, every decoration, all damaged drywall and electric, plus they are putting every bit of their heart and soul into re-building their dream. Each day they do heavy lifting while holding back the tears because they are doing their best to stay positive as they infuse new energy to make Manatee Landing Retreat even better than before!

Ilyse & Eliot's enthusiasm and cheerful personalities brought the magic to this award winning Old Florida Destination. Their magnetism kept wonderful guests "re-treating" and visiting again and again. My name is Carolyn and I am one of those guests who has gotten to know and love them both. I am am launching the Manatee Landing Makeover Fundly to do my part in helping to restore this gem and create something even more spectacular— this boutique micromotel preserves the spirit of Old Florida while providing a modern, fun, eco & pet friendly destination experience. The Damage: Hurricane Helene destroyed much of the original resort’s interior, including guest suites and all their contents. The cost of repairs is overwhelming, and insurance will not cover the extent of the damages.

The Vision: The Re-Vibed Retreat will consist of beautifully restored and newly designed tiny suites that honor the resort’s Old Florida charm, while incorporating sustainable materials and modern amenities. This renovation will also focus offering a once again peaceful and immersive experience for those of us who love this place and for future guests to enjoy and love as well.
