We had already planned to attend this committee meeting a day before the deadly shooting at the Victim Disarmament Zone known as Ft. Hood. It is now even more timely that we get as many people to Austin as possible, and your donations can make that happen. Any amount donated will go directly to covering costs to get people in this committee room, and the more we raise, the more people we can help get there. Please consider attending and testifying before the committee on Monday to drive home the importance of "removing barriers" to second amendment freedoms in Texas. I'll be driving down to Austin Sunday evening via 35W from Tarrant County. Let me know if you need a ride! ================ TEXAS: Who's going? *I am*! Critical Committee Meeting on *Monday* regarding ~Second Amendment Infringements~ in Texas: via CJ Grisham-- The Senate Committee on Agriculture, Rural Affairs and Homeland Security will be holding a hearing on Monday, April 7, at 9:00 am in E1.016 at the Capitol. Among the charges they will be discussing is the following: "Study and make recommendations on removing barriers to Second Amendment Rights, including but not limited to open carry legislation. Consider other state laws related to open carry." I have been given an invitation to speak at the hearing. However, anyone can come and testify, so we need as many people there as possible on Monday. I'm sure the gun control bullies will be there in opposition. The public will get 3 minutes to testify for or against the topic and give their opinions on the matter. As an invited witness, I will be given up to 15 minutes and plan to use that time to the greatest extent possible in getting our message across. This is a win and it's because of what YOU have done all across the state. Depending on what comes out of this committee hearing, a special session COULD be called dealing with 2nd Amendment issues alone. OCT is on the forefront of this movement and that is why we have been given a seat at the table. If you plan to be there, please dress accordingly and bring a professional appearance. This is an opportunity to make a big impact on Texas gun rights. Wear your OCT shirts or dress in business casual, etc." See the official meeting call here:http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/Committees/MeetingsByCmte.aspx?Leg=83&Chamber=S&CmteCode=C505 Tune it at 9am Monday morning to find the broadcast link and watch the committee and testimony *live*: http://www.senate.state.tx.us/bin/live.php Timeline Photos · Tuesday at 11:14pm ·
