In 2017, at the age of 13, Nya Simone founded Make Us Known. The organization quickly made an impact with its first event, a youth talent showcase held in March 2018. However, due to various personal and global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, MUK went on hiatus. Despite these setbacks, Nya remained committed to her vision.
Now a student at Georgia State University, Nya has reignited MUK's mission. Her current initiatives include the MUK College & Career Expo, a three-day event designed to connect underprivileged youth in the Metro-Augusta area with professionals and resources across various fields. The expo features mentorship sessions, a college and career fair, and a sports showcase, all aimed at providing youth with the tools they need to succeed.The MUK College & Career Expo is an impactful event designed to bridge the gap between educational institutions, industry professionals, and aspiring students. Our goal is to empower youth by providing them with access to resources, guidance, and opportunities that will help shape their futures.
