National Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Best Charities and Donation Tips
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a wonderful time when every american, regardless of age or origin, can pay attention to significant national problem. All companies and charities, families and ordinary citizen during October can support all the people diagnosed with breast cancer. Perhaps the most use to you is going through a list of recommendation and find a good charity organization that you can contribute to.
Below, we've put together links to seven breast cancer awareness charities that are most deserving of your support, but first, a few key pieces of information:
Mammalian health: Breast cancer is the second most frequent cancer type among American women after skin cancer.
Breast cancer survivorship in the United States, there are over 2.9 million women alive and currently affected by the cancer, and lifetime risk of being diagnosed with invasive breast cancer stands approximately 12,5 % .
It ranks second of all cancers in causing death among women (the first one being lung cancer).
About 246,660 of the new breast cancer cases will be of invasive type among women.
An estimated 61000 new cases of CIS will be diagnosed; CIS is non-invasive and is the preliminary stage of breast cancer.
Some 40,450 women will die from breast cancer.

Although a list that exhaustively contains respectable charities may not be available, you may refer to this one here. If there is a particular cause that you would like to support, make sure you learn exactly how your money will be used and charity navigator to see how your charity stacks up to other charities with the same mission statement.
Breast Cancer Research Foundation: This foundation’s Mission Statement is: “to prevent and cure breast cancer in our lifetime by supporting essential research at world class medical institutions and raising awareness about good breast health.” Both were founded by Evelyn Lauder, Estée Lauder Companies’ executive; BCRF explains that 91% of the money that everybody spends is given to breast cancer research and programs. (Charity Navigator: 4 stars)
National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc.: Its commitment is to reduce death caused by breast cancer by ensuring timely detection and to give mammograms to those who need it. They reimforces awareness through education: diagnostic breast – care services for those in needs, as well as supportive services. $100 can fund a mammogram for a woman in need and it turns out that Extraordinary Needs has been accredited with 4 star rating at charity Navigator.
Living Beyond Breast Cancer: Founded in 1991 by oncologist Marisa C. Weiss, M.D., it seeks to support all women touched by breast cancer and provide them with the tools to live longest and most powerfully. (Rated 4 out of 4 stars by Charity Navigator)
Susan G. Komen for the Cure: This well know organisation’s vision is a world without breast cancer. The foundation originated from an oral commitment made by Nancy Brinker to her sister Susan Komen that she would use all available means to cause the end of breast cancer. It has since grown to become the world’s biggest collective funding for breast cancer by nonprofit organisations. But maybe October is still within the race season, and you’d be able to put your feet in it as well as your money. This site here accepts donations, by the way, it has a decent 4 star rating in Charity Navigator.
Breastcancer.org: This group is an association which aims at distributing as much accurate, comprehensive and recent information about breast cancer as possible. They must assist women and their families to understand what medical and other paperwork arising from breast cancer means in order that they may manage their lives appropriately. You can give your contribution here; they have a 4 star rating from Charity Navigator.
Breast Cancer Education Association: The philosophy of this group, staffs of which are mainly volunteers and most of them are being cured from breast cancer, is to ensure women and men in the community through easy and convenient access to support, as well as comprehensive information on breast cancer; and second, improve the quality of life of breast cancer survivors and their families and friends. (not rated on Charity Navigator yet).
Pink Ribbon International: This charity organization focuses on breast cancer research and wants to bring together people for support of those who suffer from the illness, breast cancer survivors, and families of the sufferers. (They have no rating on Charity Navigator)
