New Voices Opera 2014-2015 Season
New Voices Opera is a student-run opera company in Bloomington, Indiana dedicated to the production of new student-composed opera. NVO produces fully-staged, orchestrated, and costumed productions and is a fantastic opportunity for composers to have their works performed to their full intent. We act as a training program for everyone involved from the composer, singers, and instrumentalists all the way up to the administrative board.
This year's Spring Double Bill will feature Thump by Kimberly Osberg and The King in Yellow by Melody Eötvös. Thump is a psychodrama exploring the dichotomy of good and bad, right and wrong based Edgar Allen Poe's "The Telltale Heart." The King in Yellow brings to life two vignettes from the Chambers collection of short stories by the same title. These stories were the height of suspense writing at the turn of the century.
The Double Bill will be presented on May 8th at 7:00pm at the Buskirk-Chumley-Theater in Bloomington, IN. Admission is free and open to the public!
