Let's Bring Movies BACK to the Soo!

Growing up, going to the movies in the Soo was one of my favorite things to do with my friends(I still have all of my old ticket stubs, too!). Making memories together, sharing laughs, and getting to enjoy all the popcorn, candy, and pop we wanted—those are some memories I'll cherish forever. Unfortunately, our area hasn't had the movies for nearly a decade, and it's time to change that!

The Yooper Drive-In Cinema has been a dream of mine for years, and I’m finally ready to bring it to life. I want this to be a place where families, friends, tourists, and anyone can come to make their own memories. We’ll offer an experience that’ll leave you wanting to come back again and again!

We’re Doing Things Differently

We’re focused on sustainability, so our setup will include renewable energy, compostable containers at the Snack Shack, LED screens, and lighting, plus efforts to reduce waste. So you can feel good about enjoying a fun night out without the environmental guilt! 

Having a drive-in cinema also opens up options for all sorts of creative and fun events! So, we'll be hosting themed events throughout the 6-8 month season, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Murder Mystery, Disney Classics, and so much more! These events, along with the buzzing atmosphere, will bring the whole community together.

Here's some things we'll be offering at Yooper Drive-In Cinema for you to enjoy:

• TWO LED screens accommodating up to 100 cars each
• Snack Shack concessions
• Online Snack Shack ordering with delivery to your vehicle/spot
• At least one food truck option/day
• A lawn section closest to the screen for blankets and chairs
• Reservable Yooper Box Seats for 6-8 people up close to the screen with custom bench seating in a truck bed and discounted Snack Shack packages/options
• A patio area for eating/hanging out before the movie
• Rentable FM radios
• Branded merch(hats, blankets, hoodies, & reusable cups, mugs, and popcorn buckets(snagging you a discount, too))
• Access to our two-tier Loyalty Program
• Donate-A-Show Program to fund viewing opportunities for underprivileged community members
• Ability to vote on upcoming themes/movies/events
• Private party packages
• Fundraiser event packages
• Gift cards
• ....and advertising opportunities for local businesses!

We Need Your Help

All donations will go toward initial fees, buying land, building, getting equipment, creating a website, and training staff. Your support helps make this dream come true for our community!
