Hopefully we can make this an ongoing event with new interesting topics every 3 months or so. In this first event the 1. of May we are having a visit from carpenter Magnus Rasmussen, who blogs at Nordisk Planke, a Danish company selling wooden furniture and tables. If you are interested in learning more about Nordisk Planke or Magnus, here are their info:

Nordisk Planke ApS

In this event we going to learn how you can build a DIY wooden table for your living. Magnus will guide you step by step which he builds a table right in front of you. He will tell you more about what kind of wood to you. How to select the right dimensions, and how to transform a piece of wooden plank into a beautiful table you would be produkt to have standing in your living room.

Magnus have more than 20 years of experience as a carpenter and have worked with all kinds of wooden furniture. So it's also possible to after this event book a VIP session with Magnus and get tips and advices on how you can build your own wooden furniture or improve or fix existing ones. But mostly this event is about meeting others in your area, learn who your neighbor are and meet new people who are also interested in crafting and DIY things.

During the event, Magnus will also demonstrate various woodworking techniques and share his insights about sustainable wood sourcing. He'll explain how to choose between different types of wood treatments and finishes that both protect your furniture and enhance its natural beauty. You'll learn about essential tools needed for furniture making and basic maintenance tips to keep your wooden furniture looking great for years to come.

The event will take place at our local community center, which provides plenty of space for everyone to see the demonstration clearly. We'll serve light refreshments, and there will be time for networking and questions after the main demonstration. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience with woodworking, this event offers something for everyone. It's a unique opportunity to learn from a master craftsman while connecting with others who share your interest in handmade furniture and sustainable living.

As an extra bonus, all participants will receive a detailed guide with step-by-step instructions and a list of recommended tools and materials, making it easier to start your own projects at home. We believe that bringing together people who are passionate about craftsmanship helps create a stronger, more connected community, and we hope this will be the first of many such gatherings.
